A painter’s zine

Designing Zines is a special process and requires a multi-layered design process in order to execute successfully. This Zine was specifically tailored for an artist to showcase their work in a clean and balanced display of artwork and information. We first started with the body of work which in this case was the clients paintings. The format was carefully decided based on the body of work. A square zine suited best since most of her work were already in square format. Here are a few pieces of her paintings we used in the zine and find a color palette, typeface, and layout design.

Next was to find the Color Palette, Typeface, and Layout Design that will be used throughout the zine. Knowing her work was traditional fine arts, we went with a handwritten display type, clean body type, and pulled colors from a painting we decided was to be the cover of the zine.
